What kind of stories are we looking for?
Submit a captivating story that highlights an environmental problem but, most importantly, shines a light on an idea or innovation addressing this challenge. Your story is original and has not been previously published. Your story is focused on Africa. Your story falls within one of these three themes:
1.) Climate change and food security
2.) Forests and livelihoods
3.) Clean energy.
Eligibility
- You are an early or mid-career journalist based in Africa
- You have experience in reporting on environmental issues
- No age limit

The ten best pitches are pre-selected for a webinar orientation on how to produce the final story.
Final Story Submission Guidelines
- Submit your original story exploring an environmental challenge in your community, but with a focus on an innovative solution you have identified that addresses this challenge.
- Stories can be in English or French.
- Story format could be video or text/photo essay
- Word Limit: [1000 words]
